Welcome to Redpoint Life
I think one of the best ways to learn about a culture and get to know people is through food.Through Redpoint Life I plan to share two of my favorite things: travel and food. As I start to move into the next phase of my life, I’ll write more about that. If you were looking for a rock climbing blog, this is probably not it. But hopefully I’ll be posting about climbing in the future, so keep following.
I don’t really have any expectations of gaining a following here. I’m not much of a writer or storyteller. I’m mostly doing this for myself – to document my life and maybe improve my writing and creativity along the way. This will also give me something new to do in my free time. But really, I hope this site can provide some value to someone out there. If you’ve made it this far and want to know a little more about me, then check out my About Me page.
Why Redpoint Life?
“Redpoint” is a rock climbing term. In sport climbing, redpointing is free-climbing a route, while lead climbing, after having practiced the route beforehand. Many climbers will frequently try to redpoint a route after having failed to on-sight (completing the route on the first attempt), although occasionally a climber will forgo an onsight attempt if they suspect that the route is so difficult that an attempt would be pointless.
I think redpoint is a perfect word to describe life, especially mine. Everyone’s route in life is different and most people don’t get it perfectly right the first time around. But you keep trying until you do. Sounds cheesy, I know, but all the nomad and wander domains were taken :). I do not have everything figured out yet, but I am enjoying the process as I slowly figure things out along the way. This site is exactly like that for me because I really have no idea what I’m doing. So I hope you continue to follow me along this journey as I (and this site) grow and evolve into something better than when I started.
If you have some time to kill and want to see where life has taken me, have a look around Redpoint Life and keep following. Keep in mind I’m still new at this whole blogging thing, so comments and constructive criticism are always welcome.
